Dear Mr Kaeser, dear Mr Bruch, dear members of the Managing Board and Supervisory Board, dear shareholders,
My name is Vladimir Slivyak, I work for the Russian non-governmental organization Ecodefense, which has been campaigning for safe energy and climate protection for over 30 years. Because of this work, Ecodefense was falsely accused and persecuted by the Russian Government. In 2022, the European Court on Human Rights ruled that the Russian Government violated our rights (see “Ecodefense and others v Russia” 9988/13). Nevertheless, I had to leave Russia along with my colleagues because it became impossible for us to continue environmental and climate defending work. Weiterlesen

Regarding Agenda Item 3: To ratify the acts of the members of the Executive Board
The Association of Ethical Shareholders Germany requests that the acts of the members of the Executive Board not be ratified.
Rationale:
The Executive Board impedes the energy transition unnecessarily and is not fulfilling its human rights due diligence obligation.
Siemens Gamesa: Problems jeopardize path toward a climate-neutral power supply
For years, the Executive Board has been unable to get to grips with the problems at the wind power unit Siemens Gamesa, in particular massive quality and productivity problems with some turbines. The resultant losses have even necessitated government aid in the form of guarantees running into the billions to ensure that the order backlog can be handled at all. Weiterlesen

Dear Mr. Bruch, dear Mr. Kaeser, dear members of the Managing Board and Supervisory Board, dear shareholders,
My name is Vladimir Slivyak, I work for the Russian non-governmental organization Ecodefense, which has been campaigning for safe energy and climate protection for over 30 years. Because of this work, Ecodefense has had to defend itself for many years against false accusations by the Russian government. Among other things, we have brought court cases before the European Court of Human Rights. Weiterlesen

Regarding Agenda Item 3: To ratify the acts of the members of the Executive Board
The Association of Ethical Shareholders Germany requests that the acts of the members of the Executive Board not be ratified.
Rationale:
The Executive Board has once again failed to implement ambitious measures for climate protection that reflect the consequential damage to the climate that Siemens Energy has contributed to and live up to the requirements of the Paris Agreement.
Instead of coal, expansion of fossil gas business is now causing a catastrophic climate footprint
Siemens Energy urgently needs an ambitious phase-out pathway for all fossil fuels, accompanied by a corresponding expansion of renewable energy business. Weiterlesen

Regarding Agenda Item 3: To ratify the acts of the members of the Executive Board
The Association of Ethical Shareholders Germany requests that the acts of the members of the Executive Board not be ratified.
Rationale:
The Executive Board of Siemens Energy AG is not living up to its responsibility to comply with the goals of the Paris Agreement because the company continues to participate in energy projects that are particularly harmful to the climate. It has no concrete plans to withdraw from all fossil energies.
Contract for a new coal-fired power plant is responsible for an abysmal climate footprint
Siemens Energy is actively involved in expanding the use of energies that are harmful to the climate. Weiterlesen

Ahead of Siemens Energy’s first annual general meeting, environmental and human rights organizations are seeing the company headed in a critical direction. Serious human rights issues and the adherence to coal and gas transactions weigh heavily on the future sustainability of the company. “Previously announced job cuts are the price Siemens Energy is paying for its ignorance in connection with the global energy revolution. The announced coal phase-out is half-hearted and the path beyond fossil energy, which should be adequately respecting international and human rights, is missing“, says Regine Richter, energy campaigner from the environmental and human rights organization Urgewald. Re Agenda item 2: To ratify the acts of the members of the Executive Board
The Association of Ethical Shareholders Germany requests that the acts of the members of the Executive Board not be ratified.
Supporting information:
The climate protection measures announced by the Executive Board of Siemens Energy AG do not live up to the Paris Agreement. A concrete roadmap for the company to cut its own greenhouse gas emissions in line with the objective of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius is urgently needed. A swift reduction in the CO2emissions produced from the use of Siemens Energy products (Scope 3 emissions) is vital for that. Weiterlesen
